Omena Featured in the Boston Globe

Omena’s founder and Executive Director Francesca Raoelison was interviewed by the Boston Globe’s Alexa Gagosz in this wonderful article about Omena’s mission to end the cycle of abuse in Madagascar and other developing nations. We are so honored to have been featured in the Boston Globe and incredibly grateful to Alexa for helping us to spread the word about our message. Please read the article below to learn more about our story.

Our Story

We are excited to have been featured at TedXBrownU. Francesca shared her story of learning about and coming to understand emotional abuse, which inspired her to start our organization, Omena.

In the short time since we have grown to an organization of over 150 volunteers, collaborating with nonprofit organizations across the US and Madagascar. The video will be available soon and we can’t wait for you to see it!

Omena collaborated with Malagasy Women Empowerment to host a workshop on identifying and managing emotions. Follow us on our social media to see more about our new initiatives and the organizations we collaborate with.

We are looking for writers! To help with our postings on Medium, we are looking for interested individuals to email us with a topic (and a writing sample if you have one) to write short pieces which will be posted on Omena’s Medium page. We are looking for writing on emotional abuse, healing, mental health, psychology, empowerment, and any other related topics. Articles should be no more than 500 words. Please email our outreach team if you are interested.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us with their articles and ideas already. Your stories will be posted soon and we look forward to having a conversation as a community on topics of emotional abuse, healing, and ending the cycle.
